Solution
Upstream speed of the boat = 20/6 kmph = 10/3 kmph
Downstream speed of the boat = 18/4 kmph = 9/2 kmph
Speed of the boat in still water = 1/2 [Upstream speed of the boat+Downstream speed of the boat]
=1/2 [10/3+9/2] kmph = 47/12 kmph
Speed of the water current = 1/2 [Upstream speed of the boat - Downstream speed of the boat]
= 1/2 [9/2-10/3] kmph =7/12 kmph
